2 Cor. 9:15 says “Thanks be unto God for His undescribable gift!” On the morning of our spirirtual life our Father wakes us up with the zealous passion of a father joyfully giving a wonderful gift to his children. (If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 11:13) The gift is the most enormous gift ever given! The gift is Himself. It is wrapped in His Son and the “mystery of the gospel” in the Word which became flesh! If that seems confusing, think of it this way. He IS this more than enormous, COSMOSE-SIZED gift! It is so huge it will take you a lifetime and then some to even unwrap it. He gave so much so that we could have this Gift, that He is THRILLED with our enjoyment of it! So much so, that now all He really requires of us is that we keep unwrapping it day by day (He’ll help) and enjoy to the MAX what we find beneath the wrapping! The more we unwrap, the more we see that there is more to enjoy than we ever knew! Eventually we realize that this enormous Gift is so wonderful that we owe it to the Giver to show it off to everyone! The world just has to see this. You must keep unwrapping and not only enjoying what you see each day, but sharing it with whoever will look. “Look how awesome my Father is!” Becomes the cry of your heart. Wow. You need help! You can’t unwrap it all by yourself. You can’t unwrap it fast enough. You suddenly realize that we need every believer working together every day of our lives as He helps each one of us tear away a little bit more of the wrapping. We revel in His gift, working together with joyful ever-increasing amazement, excited at the thought of more and more people seeing more and more of this gift until they see for themselves the goodness of our Father, the greatness of our God! This is what it means to live for the glory of God, longing for everyone to know Him, to see His majesty and splendor, and GIVE HIM PRAISE! We best give Him that praise by surrendering our lives to Him and spending the rest of our lives unwrapping the Gift, and showing Him off! Our prayer for ourselves and for one another must echo Paul’s heart when he said: “[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers],….Phil. 3:10(Amplified). Never quit unwrapping the gift!
